This time of year there is nothing more comforting than tucking into a big bowl of fluffy mashed potatoes. Here's how we make ours!
What you'll need:
large pot
tea towel
small pot
potato ricer
Ingredients:
4 cups of potatoes
1/2 cup of whipping cream
1/2 cup of milk
1/3 cup salted butter
salt and pepper, to taste
Start by bringing a big pot of salted water to a boil.
Next peel and slice the potatoes into uniform sized pieces. We like doing this directly on a tea towel for ease and a quick clean-up!
Next add the potatoes to the boiling water and cook until tender.
Meanwhile, in a separate small pot warm the cream, milk and butter.
Once the potatoes are tender, drain and then add them back to the pot to cook off the remaining water- like for 30 seconds.
Push the potatoes through the ricer.
Slowly stir in the warm milk and cream mixture.
Season with salt and pepper. There you have it. Beautiful fluffy mashed potatoes :)
